Last weekend, there increased the number of awards won by the latest film by Martin Rath, entitled "Arena." The film was given the special mention at the 33rd edition of International Film Festival in New Jersey.
On 12th June, the International Documentary Film Festival Sheffield Doc/Fest ended. The film "Our Curse," directed by Tomasz Śliwiński, won the Student Doc Award and the Audience Award at the festival.
Moscow International Film Festival starts on 19th June. This year, the selection committee invited two Polish documentary films to participate in the festival: "Deep Love" by Jan P. Matuszyński will take part in the competitive section, while "Joanna" by Aneta Kopacz will be screened in the non-competitive programme.

The crew tries to explore the chain of connections between two randomly drawn protagonists: a young punk-rock musician from Warsaw, Poland and a farmer from little village in Mexico. Tomorrow in French Annnecy the animation market MIFA will start. The proffessionalsvisiting the market will get the opportunity of meeting Polish producers at the national stand. Polish Animations stand will be open until Friday, 13th June.
On Sunday, 8th June the Closing Gala of the 12th Gdańsk DocFilm Festival was held in Gdańsk. Among the winners of the festival, there are three Polish documentary productions.
Last week, the Special Mention given to documentary film "Joanna" by Aneta Kopacz in Barcelona joined the awards won by the film by now. “Joanna” was appreciated by the jury of the festival Docs Barcelona, which ended on 1st June.
Last weekend proved very successful for Polish animators. At the animated film festival 24th ANIMAFEST, which ended in Zagreb yesterday evening, as many as four awards went to the Poles.
