On April 26, the International Documentary Film Festival "Hot Docs" in Canada starts. In the programme of this year's edition, there are five Polish documentary films.
This year, at International Short Film Festival Oberhausen, in the competitve section will be shown "Oh God" by Betina Bożek.
The documentary film "Concerto for Two" by Tomasz Drozdowicz will open the 58th Krakow Film Festival. It is a tale full of vivid episodes, telling us about the eminent conductor, pianist and composer Jerzy Maksymiuk, as well as an intimate depiction of the unique relationship which he forms with his wife Ewa. The opening ceremony of the Festival and the international première of the film, with the participation of the film's protagonists and the film-makers, is held in the cinema Kijów.Centrum on the 27th of May.

On March 3, the award ceremony at the Croatian festival ZagrebDox was held. On that day, "Over the Limit" by Marta Prus and "Call Me Tony" by Klaudiusz Chrostowski received the awards.

On March 7th Tampere Film Festival begins in Finland. This year the special guest of the festival is Poland. Two Polish films were invited to the competition.
Animation ”Bless You!” by Paulina Ziółkowska received special mention at the 68th International Film Festival in Berlin.
2017 brought many successes to Polish short films. Almost 220 films were shown at about 1000 festival screenings all around the world, winning nearly 130 awards. Polish short film was also the special guest at the following festivals: Encounters IFF in Bristol, Cartoon Forum, Asiana International Short Film Festival and Seoul International Cartoon and Animation Festival SICAF in Korea.
On Saturday the award ceremony of the International Short Film Festival took place in Clermont-Ferrand. Two awards went to Polish productions: ”Tremors” by Dawid Bodzak and ”Dust” by Jakub Radej.
"Opera about Poland" by Piotr Stasik won Between the Stars Award at the festival Ji.hlava. Soon, the film will be shown at special screenings in Berlin and Brussels.
