There is no doubt that last year was a favorable one for Polish documentaries. There are not only spectacular international successes but also a hundreds of screenings at the festivals worldwide to prove that.
„Argentinian lesson” by Wojciech Staroń will be screened in frame of Documentary Fortnight 2012 hosted by Museum of Modern Art in New York. Festival sets off on 16th February.
34th edition of International Short Film Festival in Clermont-Ferrand reached its end on Saturday’s evening. “Frozen stories” directed by Grzegorz Jaroszuk scored one of the top awards.
This Friday the 34th edition of International Short Film Festival in Clermont-Ferrand – the biggest and the most important in its range - will be opened. This year two Polish short films were selected to the main competition. Polish shorts will be also accessible at the film market between 27th January and 4th February. The POLISH SHORTS stand organized by Krakow Film Foundation, as one among many national stands, will present the short film output to dozens of international guests and film professionals from all over the world.
Yesterday evening the 5th edition of the International Film and Music Festival Küstendorf, running from 17th January in Serbian Mokra Gora, came to an end. Two Polish films “Glasgow” and “Barbican” selected to the competition will return home with the awards.
Although nearly a year has passed since the international premiere of “Twist and Blood”, this short film by Kuba Czekaj is still present in selections of many international festival and keeps on scorning awards. The latest news coming from US is that Czekaj’s graduation film has just received two laurels at the ceremony of presenting Los Angeles Awards!
The ninth edition of International Film Festival in Tirana brought first international success to documentary etude by Piotr Sułkowski. Last Saturday sixteen minutes long “The Conversation” scored the award for the Best Short Documentary Film.

Yesterday evening Sundance Institute announced the list of 64 short films accepted to the competiton of Sundance Film Festival held next January. In one month “Frozen stories” by Grzegorz Jaroszuk will compete for the Jury Prize in Short Filmmaking.
At one of the most important film events in China – the International Documentary Film Festival in Guangzhou – "Argentinian Lessom" directed by Wojciech Staroń once again stood on the top of the podium.
At the beginning of December the touring NextFrame International Student Film and Video Festival organized by Temple University, announced the winners of this year’s edition of the festival. Films by Kuba Czekaj and Piotr Złotorowicz represented Poland among the awarded ones.
