Wojciech Kasperskis's latest mid-length documentary "Icon", has been premiered in May 2016 at 56th Krakow Film Festival where it has been awarded with 5 Awards, Golden Hobby Horse for the Best Polish Filmincluded. On October 21, the awards of Echo Mountain Film Festival were given. The festival's Grand Prix went to the film "Jurek" by Paweł Wysoczański.
This weekend, the festival CinEast in Luxembourg ended. The Audience Award in the short film category went to the documentary film "Education" by Emi Buchwald and the feature film "Romantik" by Mateusz Rakowicz.
Last week brought two awards for the films from Gdynia Film School. "Tenderness" directed by Emilia Zielonka was honoured in Brno, and "Grandma's Day" by Miłosz Sakowski won acclaim in Los Angeles.
Today, the selection of the films to the Student Etudes Competition at the 24th edition of CAMERIMAGE, the International Film Festival of the Art of Cinematography was announced. Among the qualified films, there are Polish productions.
On October 13, started the 10th edition of the festival Inconvenient Films in Vilnius. In the programme, there are Polish documentary films.
Last weekend ended Margaret Mead Film Festival in New York City. The main award went to Aleksandra Maciuszek for her film "Casa Blanca."
Warsaw Film Festival ended last Sunday. The main award, both in short film competition and documentary film competition, went to Polish productions.
As every year, the East Silver Market gives an opportunity to watch almost 50 latest documentaries produced or co-produced in Poland. Seven of them have been nominated to the Silver Eye awards for the best documentaries shown during the Market.
