This year the selection committee of the AFI DOCS Festival invited to the competition two Polish documentaries. In the shorts section we will see ”One Two Zero” by Anna Pawluczuk, and in the feature films section ”Over the Limit” by Marta Prus.

The end of April turned out to be lucky for the short documentary film "Dust" by Jakub Radej. The film won the award at the doker festival in Russia, as well as the special mention at the Sehsüchte International Student Film Festival in Germany.

”Arabic Secret”, a documentary by Julia Groszek, was noticed by the jury at the Egyptian festival Ismailia, where it received an award in the short documentary competition.
On the 10th of April in Las Vegas, during the gala summing up the New York Festivals World's Best TV – the competition which honours the best television and film productions from 50 countries all over the world – as many as four documentary films by TVP (Polish Television) were awarded golden and silver prizes.
The 17th edition of the festival Muestra Joven ICAIC 2018, which has just finished in Havana, turned out to be particularly lucky for Adriana F. Castellanos and her debut film "Dos Islas." This film, developed at Wajda School, within the frames of the documentary film course, won as many as four awards.
On April 11 the Short Films Selections of the 71st Festival de Cannes were announced. Marta Pajek's animation "III" will take part in the Short Films Competition, and "The Other" by Marta Magnuska in the Cinéfondation Selection.

On March 30th the 14th edition of the Docudays Festival came to an end in Kiev. Special mention was given to Marcin Sauter's film "Zhalanash - Empty Shore".
On Monday evening, March 26, there was the awards ceremony of Polish Film Academy. The statuette of the Eagle for the best documentary film went to "21 x New York" by Piotr Stasik.
