In 2014, Polish documentary films were shown at international film festivals almost 380 times, winning a total of almost 70 awards. Polish documentary film was the special guest at the following festivals: Doc Aviv in Israel, Guanajuato in Mexico, Cinema Verite in Iran and Documentarist in Turkey. This month Polish short films – documentaries, fiction films and animations – will screen 35 times at 17 festivals abroad. Even though the end of the year approaches, Polish films still stand chances of being awarded.
The winning streak of Tomasz Śliwiński’s documentary “Our curse” continues. The film was awarded with the Best International Short Documentary prize at Bogoshorts festival that ended on Tuesday, 9 December, in the capital of Colombia.
