“SATI” HAS THE POPRAD IMFF JURY AWARD
Last weekend, in Slovakian Poprad, the 12th edition of the International Mountain Film Festival. Among the award-winners, there is a Polish documentary film - “Sati” by Bartek Świderski.
TWO NEW AWARDS FOR “OUR CURSE”!
Last weekend was very successful for Tomasz Śliwiński. His film “Our Curse” was given two awards - the Best Documentary award at Sapporo International Short Film Festival and the Best Student Film award at Chagrin Documentary Film Festival in Chagrin Falls, USA.
A STRONG POLISH REPRESENTATION AT THE IDFA FESTIVAL
Eleven Polish documentaries qualified for this year’s edition of the IDFA festival. Four of them will compete for awards in the competition sections, whereas the remaining seven films will be shown in the non-competitive thematic programmes.
“ARENA” AWARDED IN THE UNITED STATES
In the last weekend of September, the latest film by Martin Rath, “Arena,” was given yet another award. This time, the student etude was awarded by the jury of the American festival Crested Butte.
OCTOBER AT THE SHORT FILM FESTIVALS
Every year, Autumn is the peak of the festival season. This month, Polish short films will participate in the programmes of 49 foreign film festivals. There will be a record-breaking number of 157 festival screenings in October.
“A DIARY OF A JOURNEY” AWARDED IN LOS ANGELES
“A Diary of A Journey,” the documentary made by Piotr Stasik, was given the Hollywood Eagle Documentary Award - the award for the best documentary film of the Polish Film Festival in Los Angeles.
OCTOBER FESTIVALS
October is the peak of the film festival season. This month, Polish documentary films will be screened in over 40 screenings at 20 film festivals around the world.
FIFTEEN POLISH FILMS IN THE PROGRAMME OF DOK. LEIPZIG!
This year, the programmers of DOK. Leipzig invited nine Polish documentary films and six animations to participate in the festival. Additional ten films will participate in DOK. Market, within the frames of the Polish Docs programme, and another six - in the DOK. Incubator, DOK. Leipzig Net Lab and DOK. Leipzig Co-Production Meeting workshops.
WE KNOW THE WINNERS OF SZCZECIN EUROPEAN FILM FESTIVAL
The films “Echoes Course” by Maja Wolińska and Joan Leandre and "When I am a Bird" by Monika Pawluczuk are the winners of the Polish Competition at Szczecin European Film Festival. The festival ended on 6 October.
“TOGETHER” AND “THE PROMISE OF A HAPPY CHILDHOOD” NOMINATED FOR THE PRIX EUROPA AWARD
Next week in Berlin, the festival Prix Europa starts, where the awards for the best European radio, television and internet productions are given. In the television documentary category, two Polish films are nominated: “Together” by Maciej Adamek and “The Promise of a Happy Childhood” by Piotr Morawski and Ryszard Kaczyński.
“OUR CURSE” AWARDED AT THE RAINDANCE FESTIVAL
The winning streak of the film “Our Curse” continues. This documentary, directed by Tomasz Śliwiński, won the Best Documentary Short award at the Raindance festival in London, which ended last Sunday, 5 October.
“BATHS” BY DUCKI AWARDED AGAIN
Last weekend, another award went to Tomek Ducki. This time, the film was awarded by the jury of the Brazilian Animage festival, held from 16 to 28 September in Pernambuco.
