“CLOSE TIES” WINS THE AUDIENCE AWARD AT CINEAST

Documentary film "Icon" directed by Wojciech Kasperski received an award at the DocsMX Festival in Mexico.
On October 15th the International Student Film Festival in Písek came to an end. The Czech award went to Piotr Domalewski for his film "Evil Deeds".
From October 21st to 27th film lovers in Tokyo will have a chance to familiarize themselves a little bit more with Polish cinema. Brilla Shorts Theater will host a screening of 22 short documentaries and animations, including documentary films by Krzysztof Kieślowski.
Last Sunday the official closing ceremony of the Wiz-Art Festival took place in Ukraine. Two Polish productions were awarded in Lviv: "Hot and Cold" by Marta Prus and "Polonaise" by Agnieszka Elbanowska.
On October 12th the Bosifest Festival in Serbia came to an end. Among the awarded films there were two productions from Poland: "Daniel" by Anastazja Dąbrowska and "Two Worlds" by Maciej Adamek.
As every year, the East Silver Market gives an opportunity to watch over 50 latest documentaries produced or co-produced in Poland. Eight of them have been nominated to the Silver Eye awards for the best documentaries shown during the Market.
On October 30th the 60th DOK Leipzig Festival will begin. This year, a strong representation of Polish productions will appear in Leipzig: one will take part in the competition, three will appear in out of competition sections, four will be presented in the anniversary programme "Now and Then – Then and Now" and thirteen will be shown in a special programme - "A Declaration of Love to Polish Documentary Film".
Eight Polish documentary films qualified for the participation in this year's edition of the IDFA festival! Six films will compete for the awards in the competition sections, and two will be shown in the noncompetive sections.
"Icon" by Wojciech Kasperski was honoured with the Prix Italia award. Prix Italia was held in Milan from 29th September to 1st October.
On 14 September, the list of ten films competing for the Cinema Eye Honors awards in the Outstanding Achievement in Nonfiction Short Filmmaking category was announced. Among the shortlisted films, there is also the film by Agnieszka Elbanowska, "Polonaise".
The documentary film "Icon," directed by Wojciech Kasperski, is nominated for the Prix Italia award within the frames of the 69th edition of the festival, this year held in Milan.
On September 15th the 17th edition of the International Documentary Film Festival "Flahertiana" begins in Perm. This year's special guest is Maciej Drygas, who will present his films and give a master class.
