During the closing ceremony of the International Documentary Film Festival in Jihlava, the Silver Eye Awards for the best films qualified for the East Silver Documentary Market was given for the first time. Three Polish documentaries were awarded.
On Saturday evening in Berlin, “Chemo” by Paweł Łoziński was given the Prix Europe award in the TV Documentary category. Thus, the film was chosen the best European documentary TV production in 2009.
The Jury of the 6th edition of Camera Obscura The Art of Reportage Festival, including: Lidia Duda, Ilze Bukowska Jacobsen, Grzegorz Klatka and Antoine Leonard Maestrami announced the results of the contest.
At this year’s International Youth Film Festival in Sankt Petersburg the film “Take a Look” by Adam Palenta was given the best documentary film award.
On 30th October, the Silver Eye awards for the best films at the East Silver Documentary Market during the Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival will be given for the first time. The selection committee has chosen 11 films in each of the 3 categories: full-length documentary, middle-length one and short film. Poland is represented by 7 films.
Beata Dzianowicz was given an award for the film “Kites” at the International Festival Muslim Cinema ”Golden Minbar” in Russia.
At the forthcoming 52nd International Documentary and Animated Film Festival DOK LEIPZIG, there will be a strong representation of the Polish films. Six films will take part in the competition, and several others will be shown to the German audience during extra-competition presentations. In addition to that, 13 films, promoted by Polish Docs, will be presented during the festival’s fair.
The film „Goldfish”, directed by Tomasz Wolski, was given the award for the best documentary at the International Festival of Young Filmmakers “Cinefest” in Hungary, which ended last Saturday. Apart from “Goldfish”, Poland was represented by the following films: “Gugara’ by Jacek Nagłowski and Andrzej Dybczak and “Ponad chodnikami”(“Above the Pavements”) by Piotr Stasik.
The main award winners of the latest Krakow Film Festival, documentaries by Paweł Łoziński and Bartek Konopka, are fighting for the Prix Europe award.
The documentary film, made by the group Paladino, will be projected during a special show at the upcoming Film Festival in Swiss Locarno.
During this year’s edition of Aye Aye Film Festival in Nancy, France, Polish documentary film will be represented in the competition, outside the competition and in the special screening “The Best of Selection”.
Paweł Ferdek’s documentary „Glass Trap”, nominee for European Film Award, will be shown during several film festivals in different places around the world.
