On November 10th the International Film Festival – Listapad has finished in Minsk. A little bit earlier the awards for different competitions were handed out, among them for the student competition in which Zofia Kowalewska's film ”Close Ties” was chosen the Best Film. "The Prince and The.Dybbuk" is the winner of the Diplomas Award in the Main Documentary Film Competition.
From November 14th film lovers in Kassel will have a chance to familiarize themselves a little bit more with Polish cinema. The Kassel Documentary Film and Video Festival will host a screening of 6 short Polish documentaries.
On November 5th the closing ceremony of the Early Bird International Short Film Festival took place in Bulgaria. Two Polish shorts came back from Sophia with an award: ”Evil Deeds” by Piotr Domalewski and ”Dreaming of Warsaw” by Mateusz Czuchnowski.
The list of nominees for the 2018 Cinema Eye Honors has been announced. Among the films competing for an award there are two Polish ones: "Polonaise" by Agnieszka Elbanowska and "Communion" by Anna Zamecka, which is nominated in two categories.
On October 28th the IMAGO International Awards for Cinematography were handed out in Helsinki. A Polish representative among the winning films was "Icon", directed by Wojciech Kasperski, awarded for Łukasz Żal’s cinematography.
