Nominations for the Eagles - Polish Film Academy Awards, a.k.a. "Polish Oscars", were announced on February 6th. Three films will compete for the best documentary award: "Opera about Poland" by Piotr Stasik, "Over the Limit" by Marta Prus and "The Prince and the Dybbuk" by Elwira Niewiera and Piotr Rosołowski.
This year's edition of the festival in Clermont-Ferrand, the largest European short film festival, begins on February 1. This year, four Polish films are included in the international competition. The latest Polish short films will be also shown at the accompanying film market, where the stall of POLISH DOCS will be established for the thirteen time.
In February, the festival life seems to have fallen deep into winter sleep, but let us not forget about two very important industry events. At the beginning of the month, the festivals in Clermont Ferrand and in Berlin will start. The latest animated film by Tomek Popakul "ACID RAIN" was selected to Voices Short section of the prestigious International Film Festival in Rotterdam. The film was produced by Animoon (Piotr Szczepanowicz and Grzegorz Wacławek) and coproduced by FINA, with the support from the Polish Film Institute.
Four Polish short films were invited to the three competitions of the French Premiers Plan Festival.
