“CLOSE TIES” WINS IN COLOMBIA

On the website of the French festival in Clermont-Ferrand, the results of this year's selection were announced. In the international competition, there are three Polish short films: "Dust" by Jakub Radej, "Jerry" by Roman Przylipiak and "Tremors" by Dawid Bodzak.
The film by Wojciech Kasperski “Icon” will be shown in the competition section at Slamdance Festival. In this competition will be screened also "Quiet Hours" by Paul Szynol.
December means that festivals are slowly leaving on the winter break. Nevertheless, there still will be a chance to see Polish shorts at international festivals – Colombia will host Polish documentary shorts and Mexico – animations.
"Volte" by Monika Kotecka and Karolina Poryzała, "Black" by Tomasz Popakul and "Deer Boy" by Katarzyna Gondek will be shown at one of the most important international film events - the famous Sundance Film Festival, founded by Robert Redford.
December means that festivals are slowly leaving on the winter break. Nevertheless, there still will be a chance to see Polish documentaries at international festivals; and in Colombia and China two big programmes devoted to Polish productions will be presented.
On December 5th the BogoShorts Short Film Festival begins in Bogota. This year the festival will welcome a strong representation of 26 Polish movies: nine in the competition sections and the rest in the special Focus on Polish Docs programme.
On November 22, the award ceremony at the 30th edition of the International Documentary Film Festival in Amsterdam was held. Two Polish documentary films: "Call Me Tony" by Klaudiusz Chrostowski and "Zhalanash - Empty Shore" by Marcin Sauter return from the festival IDFA with awards.
On November 19th the Verzio International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival in Hungary came to an end. Paweł Ziemilski notched up a success with his film ”Urban Cowboys".
On November 18th the official award ceremony of the 25th Camerimage International Film Festival took place in Bydgoszcz, Poland. The Golden Frog award of the Documentary Shorts Competition went to ”Zhalanash – Empty Shore” by Marcin Sauter.
"Call me Tony", feature-length documentary debut by Klaudiusz Chrostowski had its world premiere in main competition of DOK Leipzig. At IDFA it will compete in Competition for Student Documenary, Read what the director said about his reletionship with the main character of his film.
On November 12th the Film Court Festival in Brest came to an end. One of the festival awards went to a short film "Play-off" by Tomasz Gąssowski.
