The 19th edition of International Film Festival of the Art of Cinematography PLUS Camerimage, that for the second time was held in Bydgoszcz, came to an end on 3rd December. Apart from awards that went to Polish films in the full length category also short films were distinguished.
Fourteenth edition of Kyoto International Student Film and Video Festival brought another success to Kuba Czekaj. On Friday, 25th November, director received Grand Prix of the festival for his graduation film “Twist and Blood”.
Eight minutes-long animation made by Agata Prętka scored another award last weekend. Film was screened and awarded at 21st Semana de Cine Experimental in Madrid.
The last weekend has ended with great success not only for Eliza Kubarska, Marcin Koszałka, Wojciech Staoń and Marta Prus, but also for Jakub Stożek whose documentary “Out of Reach” won the prize at RIDM in Montreal.
After recent success in Spain, Austria and Italy, „Declaration of Immortality” by Marcin Koszałka has been awarded at Bristol Encounters International Short and Animated Film Festival.
”What happend on Pam Island” by Eliza Kubarska – a film about one of the most important mountaineering expeditions in recent years – was amongst the best at the Unnim Mountain Film Festival in Spanish Torello.
This time Polish documentaries have captivated the Italian audience. At the 52nd Festival dei Popoli – International Documentary Film Festival in Florence that took place from 12th to the 19th of November 2011 two productions stood on the podium – “Argentinian Lesson” by Wojciech Staroń and “Vakha and Magomed” by Marta Prus.

Last weekend has ended with two prizes for Marcin Koszalka and his documentary "Declaration of immortality". The film was awarded at two international festivals: in Austrian Graz and Italian Bolzano.
